ArgenTech Solutions (AgTS) was honored to be awarded the Hire Vets Gold Medallion for medium sized employers in a ceremony at the Frances Perkins Building US Department of Labor on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. US Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia hosted the ceremony. “The recipients of the 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards demonstrated a commitment to hiring Veterans and helping them develop meaningful, long-term careers,” said U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia. “From small-town businesses to Fortune 500 companies, these employers understand that Veterans are uniquely qualified and dedicated employees who make significant contributions in the workplace.”
The award recognizes employers who have employed and retained veterans, including their efforts to establish employee development programs for veterans, and employers who offer veteran-specific benefits to improve retention. This year, 160 of 427 employers from 48 states gathered for the ceremony in Washington DC to receive the award. AgTS was 1 of 5 companies from New Hampshire to receive a Hire Vets Medallion.
HIRE Vets Act: In 2017, President Donald J. Trump signed the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) of 2017. Recipients of the 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards attested to meeting the rigorous employment and Veteran integration assistance criteria, including Veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of Veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for Veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; and/or compensation and tuition assistance programs for Veterans.
